TORONTO, Wednesday, November 2, 2005 – CNQ announced today that National Bank Financial has joined the exchange as a participating dealer.
National Bank Financial is a fully integrated investment dealer, combining retail brokerage and advisory services with institutional brokerage, corporate finance and securities clearing services for third parties. National Bank Financial offers a full spectrum of financial products and services and has more than 700 Investment Advisors in 94 branches coast to coast. CNQ recently announced that it intends to launch a new alternative market to trade securities listed on the TSX. The application to operate this market has been published by the Ontario Securities Commission for public comment. CNQ commenced operations in July 2003 and became recognized by the OSC as a stock exchange in May 2004, becoming the first new stock exchange in Canada in over 70 years. CNQ's innovative stock exchange addresses the needs of emerging companies and their investors and it fosters liquidity through the unique combination of a central auction market with a competitive market making system.
